When it comes to modern pin-up photography, Shoshana is one of the best!
As Editor and Chief Photographer of Pin Curl Magazine, this gal is on top of all the trends. She has produced stunning potraits of countless well-known burlesque stars and models (including Cardinal Cyn, Coco Lectric, Bondi Holly, Angi B. Lovely, Femme Vivre La Rouge, and Ruby Joule)! She also helms Through The Looking Glass photography studio in Dallas which currently accepts both private and themed bookings.
The following post at The Dirty Blonde Blog was contributed by none other than Shoshana herself! If you’ve ever thought about booking your own pin-up photography session then this post will give you the inside scoop on making the most of it. Just sit back and soak up these 5 steps to a perfect photo shoot, courtesy of a woman who really knows her stuff:
Much more (including photos!) after the jump.
Over the past few years more and more celebrities have been photographed in classic pin-up poses.
Whether sporting retro sunglasses and polka dot bathing suits like Marilyn, kicking their heels up in an oversized martini glass Dita style, or having their swing skirt and seamed stockings reveal a little too much (a la Gil Elvgren), dozens of stars have given playful nods to classic cheesecake and pin-up poses.

The Notorious Bettie Page is one of those rare films that captures pin-up style in all of its cheeky cheesecake fun.
Gretchen Mol is fantastic as Bettie. Here, the talented lead really hams it up in naughty fetish photoshoots. She sports whips, platform boots, and bullet bras, bends other models over her knee for swift spankings, and catfights in six inch stilettos; yet somehow this beauty does it all with a charming (almost innocent) twinkle in her eye.

Just feast your eyes on this spectacular cover from the June issue of Vogue Italia featuring plus-size models Tara Lynn, Candice Huffine and Robyn Lawley.
The shoot is part of a laudable ongoing effort by Vogue to glamorize beauties with a little meat on their bones, a campaign that began in February with the launch of the site Vogue Curvy.

You’ll find no nudity here. On the contrary, this book is all about the tease. Here, Dita pays tribute to cheeky 1940s pin-ups, fetish photography, and classic burlesque in this beautifully-produced volume. Everything about this read feels lavish and surprisingly addictive. You (and your guests) won’t be able to pull yourselves away. It’s sure to tickle anyone’s fancy.
